The Vancouver Playhouse 33rd Annual International Wine Festival is slated to take place this year from March 28th to April 3rd. The Festival began in 1979 and today is one of the most successful wine Festivals in North America and unquestionably, one of the most fun. It has grown considerably over the years and will feature 702 wines from 176 producers, spanning 14 countries in 2011.

I've attended this fine wine festival every year since 1997, a few months after moving to the Pacific Northwest. It is one of the best wine events of the year and 2011's global focus is on FORTIFIED WINE! There are dozens of special sanctioned events, like winemaker dinners, great tastings with the Port, Madeira and Douro wine producers … and so much more.

If you’re sitting on the fence and wondering whether or not to attend, I can assure you that your expectations will be exceeded. The wine lovers in Vancouver are friendly and the scene - from the diversity and quality of the local restaurants to pubs and night life, it’s outstanding! Many of the popular names from the Port, Madeira and Douro wine trade will be heading to Vancouver to participate in this extraordinary event. We will look forward to seeing you there!

The question remains ... do you have your tickets yet? If not, let me help you …
